The MyBB Foreigner Integration Center works to support you – migrants, in acclimatizing in the new environment as best as possible. An extension of these activities is the development of brochures and maps that will help you more easily understand the procedures and customs prevailing in Bielsko-Biała. We hope that the information contained in these materials, their accessible form and simple language will make you feel confident in the new reality.
At the same time, if you encounter difficulties that have not been explained in the brochures, we invite you to contact our advisors. Our colleagues, in addition to Polish, speak Ukrainian, Russian and English. Meetings are individual and free of charge.
This brochure presents basic information about Bielsko-Biała, the local government and information about the first procedures you need to complete in order to live in Poland. In the text you will find basic information that will help you understand how and where to complete these formalities.
This booklet provides further information that may be useful to you in your everyday life. Health, education, culture – these are the topics discussed in the text.
The attached map shows important places due to the formalities described earlier. You will also find selected places related to broadly understood culture. We have also marked our Center – MyBB. We hope to see you there
Bielsko-Biała is the administrative and cultural center of Podbeskidzie. Located at the foot of the Silesian Beskids and the Mały Beskids, it is the largest city in Poland, surrounded by mountains. The city has less than 170,000 inhabitants, which gives it enormous opportunities related to education, professional career and a wide recreational offer. It is also an excellent base for lovers of mountain tourism - hiking and cycling. The city's border location makes Bielsko-Biała an important commercial, industrial and tourist center. Interestingly, there are as many as 4 European capitals within a radius of approximately 400 km from the city: 300 km to Bratislava (Slovakia), 327 km to Warsaw, 382 km to Vienna (Austria) and 450 km to Prague (Czech Republic).
Multicultural influences are visible in the history of the city, which was officially united into one entity only in the 20th century (in 1951). Previously, there were two centers located on opposite banks of the Biała River, which is the border of countries and cultural and ethnic regions: Silesia and Lesser Poland. It is safe to say that, due to its location and history, it is a city that has combined the influence of many groups, languages and cultures for centuries. A city that brought people together.
